About Us
Watford and Three Rivers Refugee Partnership (WTRRP) provides practical and emotional support, advice and befriending to refugees and people seeking asylum living in the Watford and Three Rivers area.
Founded in 2011, our charity aims to make positive changes to the lives of individuals and
families, as we support them on their journey to a safe, secure, and settled life in the UK.
Our range of services:
A case worker who offers advice, guidance and support to refugees and people seeking asylum

A weekly social hub
We run a social hub every Tuesday from 11.30am to 1.30pm every Tuesday from 11.30am to 1.30pm at St Mary’s Church in Watford. This offers a warm, relaxed environment for people to chat, take part in a range of activites and meet other people. We have regular visits from community service providers, including health care professionals, council representatives and well being experts. We also offer donated books and clothes, as well as toiletries, nappies and sanitary products.
A weekly drop-in advice surgery
Providing access to specialist support on legal, financial and resettlement issues – every Tuesday from 11.30am to 1.30pm at St Mary’s Church, Church Street, Watford.
One-to-one group befriending
This involves one of our volunteers getting to know a family or an individual and providing ongoing support and friendship.
‘English for Speakers of Other Languages’ (ESOL) classes
Our free ESOL language classes give people the opportunity to improve their English. We also offer Life in the UK Citizenship and literacy classes for refugees and people seeking asylum in the Watford and Three Rivers area.
Practical help
Practical help with things like moving house and transport to appointments.
Support for young people
This includes sports and social events in the community and some IT equipment.

- We make sure that the human rights of the people we work with are assured
- We don’t replace the social services or the legal aid system but we do help provide access to them.
- We work closely with like-minded organisations including Home-Start Hertfordshire, New Hope Trust and the British Red Cross.

What does WTRRP do?
We support asylum seekers, refugees and other migrants without status in the UK.
We have caseworkers who provide advice on issues such as immigration and housing.
On Tuesdays we run a drop-in service providing advice and support to all.
We run a weekly social hub in Watford open to all our clients.
We teach English and other life skills.
We help children of clients participate in sporting and other activities.

Are asylum seekers illegal?
No, asylum seekers are not illegal, and it is not illegal to seek asylum in the UK. In fact, seeking asylum is a human right. Find out more here.
Why do refugees and people seeking asylum need support?
Do you help children?
Yes, we work with lots of families, with children of all ages in the Watford and Three Rivers area. We offer a range of support to children, including providing school uniforms and helping them to join local clubs and societies to meet their peers.
